Whether you're a library looking for a responsible way to handle deaccessioned materials, a thrift store with surplus book inventory, or a community organization interested in hosting a donation bin, partnering with BookDrop is straightforward and hassle-free.

For Libraries

Libraries regularly need to withdraw books from their collections to make room for new materials. BookDrop provides a responsible alternative to dumpsters.

What to expect:

  1. Contact us to set up a partnership
  2. When you have deaccessioned materials ready, schedule a pickup
  3. We come to your library, load up the books, and handle everything from there
  4. Books are sorted, redistributed to readers, or recycled responsibly

We work around your schedule and can handle pickups of any size — from a few carts to an entire storage room.

For Friends of the Library

After every book sale, there are leftovers. Sometimes lots of them. BookDrop takes the stress out of post-sale cleanup.

What to expect:

  1. Let us know your book sale dates in advance
  2. We schedule a pickup for the end of the sale (or the day after)
  3. We collect all remaining inventory — no sorting needed on your end
  4. Your volunteers go home, and we take it from there

Many Friends groups tell us this is their favorite part of the partnership — knowing that the leftover books are going to readers, not a dumpster.

For Thrift Stores

Books are a staple of thrift store inventory, but shelf space is limited and not every title sells. BookDrop turns your surplus into revenue.

What to expect:

  1. Set aside books that aren't selling
  2. We pick up on a regular schedule — weekly, biweekly, or monthly
  3. You get paid per pound for the books we collect
  4. We handle all logistics and heavy lifting

Our thrift store partners appreciate the simplicity: set the books aside, and BookDrop takes care of the rest.

For Community Organizations

Want to give your community an easy way to donate books? Host a BookDrop bin at your location.

What to expect:

  1. Apply to host a bin (it's free!)
  2. We deliver and place the bin at your location
  3. Community members drop off books 24/7
  4. We empty the bin on a regular schedule

Bins work great at shopping centers, community centers, houses of worship, fire stations, and many other locations.
